スーパードライのダブルクオート

普通のシングルクオートは ‘ ’、ダブルクオートは “ ” であり、「6」「9」のような形でデザインされていることが多い*1。しかし、アサヒスーパードライのロゴにあるダブルクオートは、ちょっと違う。

開きのダブルクオートが、「6」ではなく「左右反転した9」になっている。なぜこういうデザインにしたのだろうか。横のラインを揃えるため？

wikipedia:en:Quotation mark glyphs を見てみると、Unicode にはこの「左右反転した9」タイプのクオーテーションマークも入っているらしい。このように記述がある*2。
